This year RICE Regenerate and RICE Rally are running on back to back weekends - making August officially RICE Season! RICE Regenerate for young adults will be running on Saturday night on the 17th of August and RICE Rally for high school youth will be running on the 24th of August. Make sure you note these dates into your calendar!
RICE Easter Event with John Dickson
We were really blessed last Good Friday with the opportunity to host a special event with Dr John Dickson at St Barnabas Anglican Church, Broadway. 589 people gathered to worship, hear the gospel preached and participate in a Q&A session on the historicity of the claims of Christianity.
We would like to thank our RICE volunteers for their hardwork in running the event, St Barnabas Broadway for use of their church building, Bible Society for supplying gospel material to giveaway, and Dr John Dickson for presenting at the event.
Supporters and Fundraising Update
God continues to provide for RICE as we currently have 34 regular givers. A huge thank you to those who are giving generously in this way.
To cover our behind the scenes expenses such as insurance, music licensing, administration costs and contracted workers we are seeking a further 110 people to give on a regular monthly basis. This means we need:
20 people giving $100/month,
80 people giving $50/month,
and 10 people giving $25/month

RICE Regenerate Update - by Mikey Nhieu
After leading RICE Regenerate for the last 4 years I excitedly handover the leadership over to Elliot Ku. Elliot is a student at UNSW and has been a team member of RICE Revolution. He is a gifted leader with a contagious passion for renewal!
It has been a wonderful privilege to serve with amazing people on team over the last 4 Regenerate Rallies: Treasuring Jesus, Glory, True Worship and Sons and Daughters, where God has worked powerfully in renewing many in their faith by the power of the gospel through God's Word and Spirit. Next year I will continue to serve and oversee the RICE Movement as a member of the RICE Board. I truly believe in the next 3 years God will renew Sydney in a powerful way. We have only touched the surface - great gospel momentum is building up in Sydney!

Awesome Response from RICE Rally 2012
Friends, let this bring you great encouragement that God is active and powerful in Sydney! So spread the news of how incredible, amazing and mighty our God is!!!
God saved 80 unbelievers and brought into the kingdom of God. 80 people repented and came to know and follow Jesus Christ for the first time! God also also challenged 651 youth who recommitted to having Jesus as their number one! I hope this blows your mind. 651 young people who may have called themselves Christians, who have been seeking satisfaction in other things than Jesus, have been struck in the heart to put Jesus as their number one again.
This is a great cause to celebrate! As the angels are rejoicing over 1 person who repents and turns away from sin, I hope you rejoice and party this Friday at Youth Group and this Sunday at Church.

RICE Rally Prayer Points
We just received an encouraging email from ISCF students at NSGB asking for RICE Rally prayer points! :D Here they are. Will you pray with us?
Please pray for:
- Our core teams as they continue planning the event
- For lot's of youth leaders and volunteers from churches joining in to help run the event
- Pray we find many mature Christian leaders to counsel youth who make a response on the night
- Pray for many generous donations to help us reach our fundraising goals so we can continue to run rally for years to come
- Praise God for the excited youth who are already inviting their friends to RICE Rally!
- Pray for Dave Miers as he prepares his talk for RICE rally - that God works powerfully through him to preach salvation through Jesus
- Pray that all 3800 seats will be filled at RICE Rally with people who need and want to hear the gospel
- Pray for our network of churches as they prepare to take in new Christians and youth who thirst to know more about Jesus
RICE Rally Key Co-ordinators Registration Now Open!
We are 3 months out from RICE Rally, which means it's time for us to start registrations for our Key Co-ordinators. Our Key Co-ordinators are representative leaders who will help drive follow up, evangelism, and foster partnership between their local church and RICE.

RICE Rally 2012 Launch Night
Come on Monday the 21st of May for the RICE Rally Launch! The night is open for Pastors, Church Leaders, and Youth Leaders who are passionate about sharing the gospel with the youth of Sydney. This is a night not to be missed!

RICE Rally (formerly RICE Youth Sydney Rally) is back again this year! Lock in Saturday 18 August in your calendar and check out www.riceyouth.org for more information. Leading up to Rally we’ll be getting to know some of the RICE Rally team who work so tirelessly to bring this event together. This month we meet Sam Mak, Boris Yu and Ryan Yeomans.

Describe RICE Rally in 3 words: [Sam] Engaging Christ-focussed proclamation.
[Boris] Know. Love. Experience. ;p or Jesus. Bible. God.
[Ryan] Jesus. Saving. People.
What is one thing you love about RICE Rally?
[Sam] I love the fact that young people across Sydney step up and take their faith seriously and take the gospel into their schools.
[Boris] I love the fact that God worked in me at RICE in 2005 and showed me who Jesus truly is. Now I get to see many other youth come to the same life-changing realisation every single year-it’s all God’s grace.
[Ryan] I love that RICE Rally actually serves a need and isn’t just there for the sake of it – but it’s filling a hole that’s missing for the youth of Sydney.
RICE Zone kicks off for 2012
Our next RICE Zone event will be on Friday afternoon on the 11th of May at Central Baptist Church. So help us spread the word and let other Christians in your high schools know about it!
When: Friday 4th May, 4-6pm
Where: Central Baptist Church - Train to Town Hall and walk
What: Awesome worship, prayer, bible teaching and sharing from other high schoolers.
RICE Zone kicked off for 2012 on March 23 at Central Baptist Church. RICE Zone aims to spur Christian high schoolers to develop a more intimate relationship with Jesus, to expand their Christian network and to encourage them to do big things in Jesus’ name in their school.
We had 38 kids from all over Sydney come along to sing praises, share about their schools, encourage one another and hear from God's word. It is amazing seeing how eager the youth are for fellowship and to worship God together. They come straight from school to have fellowship and sing praises, and then most of them shoot off to youth group straight after RICE Zone!
Praise God!
RICErally 2011 was just incredible! God used Sam Chan so powerfully! We are all rejoicing because he really opened Scriptures to show the real person of Jesus and also because we can welcome so many youth into our family. On that night, there were 178 young people who indicated they prayed to accept Christ in their hearts & 324 renewed their faith to Jesus!
